A massive well done and thank you to those members representing BKRC at the Show jumping Winter Qualifiers at KSEC.
First up were Junior riders, Abi Clifton & Risky and Kate Adams and Rodney - competing in the 70cm. Unfortunately, Rodney decided that today wasn't for him, and bowed out in the first round. And whilst Risky had some unusual knock downs to score 12 faults over the two rounds, Abi with Risky, went on to come a very creditable 4th overall and 3rd in the qualifying members and qualified to represent the club at the National Winter Championships at Arena UK in March 2022.
Next up was our Senior 80cm team, made up of Jayne Harman and Bam Bam, Naomi Kaye and Jazz and Kelly and Fred.
First up for the team was Naomi and Jazz, having just an unlucky 4 faults. They were followed by a very naughty and opinionated Freddie, who's additional moves throughout meant they had 4 faults for a knock down and 15 time faults. They were followed by the third and final team member Jayne Harman and BamBam who did a lovely round, just taking one fence. This meant that at the end of round one, all team members had 4 faults with Kelly also incurring time faults, so we were on a cumulative score for the team of 27 faults.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kelly decided to retire Freddie from the second 85cm round. As we were already a member short this meant our team was now unable to complete. However, Naomi and Jazz went in to jump a very nice clear second round to finish 8th in the qualifiers and 14th overall. Bam Bam also felt the pressure and had 12 faults in his second round, meaning they finished on 16 faults, still however getting 12th place in the qualifying section and 22nd overall.
